Before you contact us
Common questions
Is my enquiry confidential?
Yes. Only the investigators handling your case see your details, and we never contact the person you are enquiring about.
Are you licensed to investigate in Malaysia?
Yes. Gunma has been a licensed private investigation company registered with the Kementerian Dalam Negeri since 1999. We encourage every client to verify an agency's licence before hiring, ours included.
Do I have to commit after the consultation?
No. The consultation is free and without obligation. Work only starts after you approve a written proposal.
What will it cost?
A primary investigation is usually RM500–1,000 over two to three working days. Surveillance is billed hourly at RM100–250 and can be block-booked. Final pricing is confirmed in your written proposal before any work starts.
Will you take any case?
No. We screen each case first and take them on a case-by-case basis. If an investigation is unlikely to produce a useful result, we will tell you before you spend anything.
Can the findings be used in court?
We gather evidence within Malaysian law so that it stands up to scrutiny, and we work with a network of 20 partner law firms when a case needs legal follow-through.
How do I receive the findings?
As a case report delivered in person or securely online, with a presentation if you want one.
Can we meet in person?
Yes, at any of our 10 branches by appointment, or at a discreet location that suits you.
Do you work outside Malaysia?
Yes. We handle cases across Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and run cross-border background checks through our screening partners.
